What the hell is wrong with people?

I'll never understand trolls. I can understand presenting your opinion in an intelligent and sensible way, and perhaps having a little half-serious debate with someone (c'mon, it's the Internet, how serious can anything be?). But telling someone they're a piece of human trash and then laughing at them, or saying something "sucks" without giving reason, or just insulting something because it's either too popular or not popular enough (I'll never understand that)...It just boggles my mind.

Just looking at comments on YouTube, or GameFAQs, even deviantART...It's truly discouraging. Is the Internet where all the homophobic, semi-retarded, scum of the earth assholes gather? Am I just part of a minority that is at least civil toward my fellow human beings, regardless of race, sexuality, or beliefs? Even if I don't agree with someone, I'll let them know in a nice way or just not say anything at all.

Just because the Internet is anonymous doesn't mean you can be a complete ass to everyone. If there's something you believe is wrong, surely you can think of a better way to express your views than, "animes gay u suck go kill urself lololol wat a loser"

Of course, a majority of those comments are made by 11-year-olds. In that case, I seriously worry about the future.

Hell, today I had to endure a real-life case of this. I was looking at Wii games and a kid, maybe 13 or 14 years old, called me a "gay Nintendo fan-girl". Though I was annoyed, I ignored him. Soon his little friends joined him in looking at the big, manly M-rated PS3 games. I moved over to check out the PS2 games (Yay for price drops!), and they started on me again. "Dude, look it's a girl." "Dude, you wouldn't have a chance she's probably into girls." I still ignored them, bought Okami for the Wii because my PS2 version broke ages ago, and left GameStop. And the little butt-wipes followed me, making comments the whole way out to the parking lot. Uhg...

Seriously, I've never had this problem myself but I do agree with your statements that there are a lot of asshole people on the web, who degrade themselves by typing in the most idiotic way they possibly can think of. I at least support those who can type in fluent English or any other language. I'm not trying to offend anybody by typing this comment so please do not respond saying that I may have offended any particular group of people. I don't think I'm any better than anyone else.

Oh god, I'm totally sorry you had to endure that.

See how I feel when I get attacked for stuff like not believing that people's fan-sex-pairings are true, or for liking something that's obscure?

Except with me, it's like 10+ people, for DAYS, over something innocent like

"Well, I played SoA:L, and I just don't think the characters in the game are having off-camera gay sex scenes every 3 seconds...O_o;"

"Oh yeah, well, I play GW instead of WoW."

"I don't really watch a lot of TV these days"

or worst of all:

"I'm a girl and don't want kids."

"I'm a girl and I'm not a dumb-blonde."

"I'm a girl and I don't act completely immature and trashy and chase strange guys all the time"

...god, I could go on forever.

But this is the exact thing I mean about bullying--it's gotten a lot worse.

Except for me, it's usually yaoi-obsessed, creepy anime-extremists who are all 23-25, and claiming to be mature, all while acting LESS mature than a lot of 12-year-olds I've met in my life so far. X___X

Either way, again, sorry you had to go through that.

I know how it is--I've been called 'dyke' in a mall before by a crowd of TOTAL STRANGERS, not even for dressing weird or for anything I had with me--I was just in the food court, minding my own business, when this group of--what--7-8 people (both guys and girls) went by doing that to me, just for the hell of it.

It hurts, and totally is wrong.

I myself am also appalled at the general actions of the younger generations of humanity these days. Sometimes I struggle to ignore the urge to yell "SHUT YER TRAP, I'M SICK OF YOUR SHIT" and punching them.

Thankfully, however, I'm a non-violent individual who has avoided what fights he can for the past 7 years.

Screw Luck, Fate, and Physics! I don't care how many damn holes I'm going to make in the Space-Time continuum... I'm going to win the heart of one of the fair maidens of this land..... and nothing is going to stand in my path!

what's really sad is that not one employee kicked those shits out for harassing another customer. just to let you know that it isn't just the NEW generation being asses.

and as for looking at games as a chick, all my guy friends WISH their girls liked playing games. in fact, they refuse to call me a girl because they don't want to "insult" me. (and i'm jealous you've got wii!!! :shakefist: )

Must kill stupid little boys...

It's like these kids' parents don't raise them with any manners. They would have made fun of anything you would have said in response. Physical violence is the only thing I can think of in that situation, but that's not usually the best way to go.

^^ I wouldn't let anyone talk to me or about me like that. Especially a boy. Boys fear me. They better. And if they don't know who I am, and start talking shit. I start slowly walking towards them with a glare on my face and they get scared real fast. They usually scamper off but I follow them a ways just to really scare them. :evillaugh: Hahahahahaha! Little boys are afraid to play with the big girls! ^^
